This collection consists of two types of imagery. ‘Discards’ are gleaned from the rich collection of unused exposures generated whilst making an HDR work. Unforced and unpredictable, the photographs in this series are the last of the three exposures elaborating the key ingredient of movement. Bleached, blurry and bewitching, they fortuitously manage to succeed on their own terms. ‘UTA’ were created as a counter reaction to my high contrast, busy photographs. Quieter, simpler and slower. Focused on shape and colour, with familiar subject matter but generated in complete contrast to my modus operandi.
